How Does the Filter Work?

PurrCurrent’s four stage filtration system helps keep your cat’s water cleaner as it circulates through the fountain:

  • Non woven fabric helps capture hair and debris.
  • Activated carbon helps reduce odours and certain impurities.
  • Ion exchange resin targets certain dissolved ions in the water.
  • Pre filter sponge catches hair and debris to help protect the pump.

Replace filters according to the manufacturer’s instructions, clean the fountain regularly, and refresh the water to keep it working at its best.

There’s a Reason They Love the Tap.

The movement of running water can make drinking more inviting. PurrCurrent brings a faucet-style stream to your cat’s own drinking spot.

      Moving Water Catches Their Attention

The movement, gentle sound and light reflections of flowing water can spark a cat’s curiosity. For cats fascinated by the tap, a flowing stream offers something engaging to investigate.

    • Daily drinking habits

      An Invitation to Drink

Some cats drink more when offered a fountain. Giving them access to a water source they enjoy is one practical way to encourage drinking throughout the day.

    • Everyday wellbeing

      Hydration Matters

Adequate hydration supports normal kidney function and other essential processes in your cat’s body. Increasing water intake also helps dilute urine—an important part of managing and preventing certain urinary stones.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Your questions, answered.

My cat is picky about water. Could PurrCurrent help?

Some cats prefer moving water. PurrCurrent offers a faucet style stream that may appeal to them. Give your cat time to get comfortable.

What if my cat won’t use it?

If it isn’t the right fit, contact us within your purchase’s return period. We’ll help you with the next steps under our return policy.

    Is it noisy?

PurrCurrent is designed for quiet operation, with gentle water sounds. Keep the water topped up and the pump clean for smooth running.

Does it need to stay plugged in?

No. Motion Sensor and Timer modes work on battery power. Constant Flow mode needs to stay plugged in.

How long does the battery last?

Battery life depends on your chosen mode and how often the fountain activates. More frequent use means more frequent charging.

    Is it easy to clean?

The removable stainless steel tank and tray are dishwasher safe. Keep the electronic unit dry and clean the pump separately following the care instructions.

When should I replace the filter?

Follow the replacement schedule in your fountain’s care instructions. Contact us for help finding the correct replacement filters.

    Can multiple cats use it?

Yes. The 4 litre tank can serve multiple cats. Check the water daily and keep additional drinking spots available.

How often should I change the water?

Check it daily and refresh it regularly, sooner if it looks dirty or smells unusual. Filtration doesn’t replace fresh water or cleaning.

    How long does shipping take?

Allow 2 to 3 working days for processing, plus an estimated 5 to 8 working days for delivery. Timing may vary by destination.
